Small, but Mighty: Logan Bi-Directional Coiled Tubing Jars & Energizers
Logan has developed a new, robust series of double-acting Coiled Tubing Jar and Energizer designs that are shorter and stronger, and have higher yield strengths, than similar tools on the market. These tools’ small outside diameters — 1-11⁄16", 2-1/8", and 2-7/8" — and shorter lengths, which are about six feet shorter than competitors’ tools, make them ideal for milling, drilling, workover, remedial, or completion operations, especially in vertical, deviated, and ultra-deep well bores. They are constructed of stainless steel for added strength and corrosion resistance. The tools can operate at any depth, and when dressed with special packing, can withstand temperatures in excess of 350°F.
The Logan Bi-Directional Coiled Tubing Energizer is an impact enhancement tool designed for slim holes (generally a well bore less than six inches in diameter). It provides or enhances jar impact from
energy stored within its oil-filled compression chamber. It also functions as a shock absorber that
prevents impact damage to the tool string at the bottom of the coil, which is often referred to as the bottom hole assembly or BHA. A Logan Bi-Directional Coiled Tubing Energizer is recommended any time a Logan Bi-Directional Coiled Tubing Jar is included in the work string. The Energizer is also capable of transmitting compatible torque for downhole motors.

Logan Introduces Arctic Weather 85-Ton and 120-Ton Power Swivels
Logan’s Arctic Weather 85-Ton and 120-Ton Power Swivels are enclosed in insulated, 20-foot metal containers. The containers have adjustable louvers to allow operation in warmer temperatures. Two bi-fold doors on one side and double doors at the back permit complete access. For added traction, the floor is coated with rhino liner.
The engine is equipped with an oil pan, coolant heaters, and an ambient air temperature sensor. The battery is enclosed in a lockable box and is equipped with a battery warmer. An auxiliary battery charger is also included.
The arctic weather package also features glycol injected air lines to prevent them from icing. electric fuel and hydraulic tank heaters, a 15,000 kw gas generator to operate the heaters during transport (or if adequate power supply is not available), and a hydraulic powered hose reel. One of the back doors features a hose window for routing hoses out of the container. To retain heat, the hose window is fitted with rubber flaps and a metal door.
The power swivel heads are transported horizontally on separate transport skids.

Logan Introduces 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patches
Logan's new 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patches (patent pending) are designed to simply, quickly, and economically repair damaged casing in high-pressure environments. Rated for 15,000-psi working pressure, the Logan 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patch can seal internal and external pressure without restricting the bore's internal diameter. Once installed, the Casing Patch restores integrity to the damaged casing and becomes a permanent part of the string.
The Logan 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patch incorporates the same easy-to-set and release features as the Logan Type L Packer Type Casing Patch. For maximum top-to-bottom patch integrity, two (2) inverted packers provide sealing in both directions. The new design utilizes a unique, three-piece seal assembly comprised of an elastomeric seal, a seal protector/seal backup, and a non-extrusion ring, instead of the typical two-piece seal assembly that only consists of a seal and a non-extrusion ring.
The Logan 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patch adapts to popular standard casing diameters — from 5-1/2 to 14 inches O.D. — and can handle the full tolerances of various API casing manufacturers. Depending on operation requirements, the Logan 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patch can be run with or without five-foot, alloy steel, extension subs. Logan 15K psi High Pressure Casing Patches for H2S (sour service) are also available upon request. Read more>>
